How do I patch an apk that uses a remote server to store game values?

I have successfully patched a game APK, with LP for ingame purchases and it works fine, I can go to the store, purchase a bunch of gems and it goes to LP then I click yes to attempt to purchase item(s) free, and it works, I get a pop up ingame chest that then has the 'Claim' button underneath it, so I click it and in the game display I see the amount of gems updated, but here's the problem, it seems the game uses a remote server to store game values and the game reads that location and updates the games display, but updating the display via a patch does not update the values stored on the remote server, so when I try to use those gems, I get "Oooops something has gone wrong, please reload the game", then a button appears with 'Reload" and I can't do anything else unless I hit that button, but hitting that button, reloads the game with values stored on the remote server.  What I need is a way to find that part of the game that sends those values to the server, so that a patch can be applied that does just that, sends the information to the remote sever.

The game, if anyone wants to try and patch it, is called Klondike Adventures, yes I know there's modded apk's on the net, but no matter which one I try, they all want updates from google play store which overwrites the mod.
